Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.
-Fred Rogers
Men don’t ask for help. No matter what’s happened, no matter how bad you feel or unsure of what to do next, “man code” says asking for help is weak.
Don’t be fooled.
It takes courage to own a problem and strength to fix it. I help men struggling with different situations, including these:
- You are a young adult living at home, trying to figure out your unique path to happiness in the face of pressure to follow a conventional route. Motivation may be a problem at times, but you feel pushed by those around you and need support.
- You long for a relationship, but feel like you can’t compete. You don’t have what women want and the possibility of a love affair seems remote.
- Your marriage blew up without warning. You need to make sense of what’s happened, and at the same time you need to be practical, figure out what to do next and keep your focus and priorities straight.
- Your career is flaming out, you’re an “old” guy in a young guys’ world. Feeling washed up at mid-life? Still waiting for your “real” life to begin?
Help is available. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me. Let’s find a way to make things better for you.
